We do not begin with a story.
We begin with a question worth filming.

TEUCRIS cinema is, above all, a cinema of ideas.

Story, character, image, sound, silence, an object or a real place are not ends in themselves. They are the means through which a question can acquire cinematic form.

Memory. Identity. Time. Absence. Return. Fate. Historical truth. Human contradiction.

The purpose is not always to provide an answer. Sometimes the film exists precisely because the answer remains uncertain.

A CINEMA OF IDEAS

A film can tell a story. It can also function as thought.

In TEUCRIS cinema, a door, a key, a mirror, an abandoned road, a human voice or an empty room can become a carrier of meaning.

The image is not used simply to show. It is used to suggest, question, recall — and sometimes to conceal.

This is the foundation of Teucris Conceptual Cinematography.

TEUCRIS NOIR

Teucris Noir is the contemporary creative and cinematic identity of TEUCRIS.

It is not a genre. It is not merely black-and-white imagery. Nor is it a set of aesthetic rules.

Restraint, silence, slow rhythm, a limited number of characters, confined spaces and symbolic objects are tools. The idea always remains at the centre.

The image is the surface. The concept lies beneath it.

BETWEEN FICTION AND REALITY

TEUCRIS cinema often operates at the boundary between fiction, documentary, personal essay and cinematic research.

A real event can lead to a philosophical question. A place can become a character. A gap in the historical record can become the starting point of an investigation. A personal memory can acquire the structure of a documentary.

This is the territory from which TEUCRIS META-DOCUMENTARIES emerged. They do not simply record reality. They examine what reality means — and how certain we can be about the ways in which we remember and narrate it.

FESTIVALS AND DISTINCTIONS

TEUCRIS productions have been selected and recognised by international film festivals.

Festival participation and awards are not the reason a film is made. They do, however, show that a personal cinematic language can communicate beyond the place in which it was created.

Because sometimes the most important thing in a film is not what we see. It is what we begin to think.
